Long Beach Township Police Charge Two Men in $29k Siding Theft

LONG BEACH TOWNSHIP, NJ - On Sunday December 26, 2016 the Long Beach Township Police Department was contacted to investigate an alleged act of burglary and theft. 

A Long Beach Township home was missing approximately $20,000 worth of siding, which was located inside a residence within Long Beach Township, said the police report.  Along with that missing siding, an addition $9,000 worth of siding stolen out of Beach Haven and a railing stolen from Stafford Township was also located inside the Long Beach Township residence. 

Following the police investigation, the Long Beach Township Police Department established probable cause to charge Daniel L. Smith, 42 of Manahawkin and Joseph F. Cogliano Jr, 39 of Browns Mills. They were charged for the offenses of burglary, theft of movable property, theft by deception, possession of stolen property, fencing and conspiracy, said police.
