STAFFORD, NJ - Local residents should be ready for some intense weather tonight into early Tuesday. This will be an all rain event due to the warm temperatures for this time of year.
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch from Monday afternoon until 5 a.m. on Tuesday. Low pressure will develop and strengthen off the Mid-Atlantic coast on Monday and will hug the Jersey shoreline before leaving on Tuesday morning.
Our area can expands bands of moderate to heavy rain. The heaviest rain will be Monday evening with 1-3 inches of rain anticipated.
Stafford-LBI residents can expect high winds from 3 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday. The winds will be from Northeast from 25-35 miles per hours with gusts fo up to 60 miles per hour. There is possibility of blown down trees and power lines according to the National Weather Service warning. Sustained winds of 40 mph or higher can result in property damage.
