National Weather Service Issues Winter Storm Watch for Stafford-LBI Area

STAFFORD - The weather has been setting record cold in the past week all around the nation. The kids are just back to school, but snow is in the forecast. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch on Tuesday afternoon for the shore area.

A rapidly intensifying offshore storm may produce significant snowfall later Wednesday night through Thursday.  Strong winds are possible on Thursday but the NWS reports that the actual amounts of snow will depend on the track of the offshore intensifying form.

If the track continues the way predicted there will be difficult travel conditions in the morning commute on Thursday. Total snow
accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are possible.
