Pennsylvania Man Drowns On LBI Surf Sunday Afternoon

BRANT BEACH, NJ - On Sunday afternoon, a Germantown, Pennsylvania resident drowned in the surf in the vicinity of 100 Street in Brant Beach.  A surfer called 911 after pulling the victim, James Bishop, out of the ocean. Mr. Bishop and his family have a second home in Long Beach Township.

According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Mr. Bishop was transported to Southern Ocean County Hospital and was pronounced dead at 6:35 p.m..  The Long Beach Township Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department CSI responded to the Southern Ocean Medical Center.  The investigation is continuing.
