STAFFORD, NJ - Southern Regional’s Autism Program and the nonprofit Piece of the Puzzle, Inc. have created a new hot sauce, Honey Holla, that is available for purchase at The Old Causeway restaurant in Manahawkin.
This hot sauce was made by the rock star students of Southern’s autism program. Make sure to head on over to get your bottle before it’s gone--again. The first order was sold out within a few days of the initial launch on Jan. 17.
Piece of the Puzzle is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to providing meaningful structured learning experiences and employment opportunities to adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorder, through collaboration with local school districts and community outreach in New Jersey. Did you know? Currently the employment rate among adults with ASD is about 2%....Piece of the Puzzle Inc was founded to see that number go up to 100%.
Piece of the Puzzle Inc. has been doing an amazing thing for the autism community here in Stafford and LBI since it’s founding in 2010. Kerry Beetel, a teacher in Southern’s autism program and founder of the organization says Piece of the Puzzle is “a vision that grew from a need that has become a dream." Beetel started this venture with a very unique and delicious product--homemade ice cream with chocolate puzzle pieces that is made by the students in the autism program at Southern Regional High School.
Piece of the Puzzle Ice Cream can be found at various locations in LBI including Anchor Produce, Black Eyed Susan’s and Bageleddi’s.
Honey Holla hot sauce is currently only available at Old Causeway in Manahawkin so make sure you get your bottle before they are all gone!
Kerry Beetel and all of Southern Regional’s Autism Program love and appreciate all the support our community offers to the organization and can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the future. Be sure to support the cause in any way you can. Like their Facebook page for more information and ways to get involved.
