TOMS RIVER, NJ - The Southern Rams hockey team had their hands full Monday against Toms River North. On paper, one would expect the Rams to gain the victory. After all the Rams record before the game was 10-2-2 and Toms River North was 3-6-2.

But Southern, with defenseman Tommy Rossi missing the game with an injury, settled instead for a 2-2 tie.

The Rams fell behind, 2-0, but kept fighting. In the third period, Matt Scalvino scored to get Southern closer, 2-1. Tyler Golumb tied the game with a shot just inside the blue line.

The Rams lace up the skates tomorrow against St. John Vianney at 5:30 p.m. at the Jersey Shore Arena.
