STAFFORD -Stafford Councilman Steve Jeffries resigned from Council in early May. The Stafford Council chose Ray Fix from a list of candidates including Pete Slomkowski and Rich Carlson to replace Jeffries.

Fix was sworn in by township attorney and Senator Chris Connors, and accompanied by his wife.

Jeffries had been under fire in the past 1.5 years for missing a significant number of meetings prior to his resignation.  He blamed the absences on his career which called him to work out of state for significant periods of time.
