BEACH HAVEN, NJ - Reptile World invades Beach Haven at the Fantasy Island Amusement Park beginning on Monday night.

This educational show features live reptiles, including snakes, turtles and other “scaly” creatures three times per night, four days a week.

Premiering on August 1, the show takes the stage at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. each Monday-Thursday night until August 25.

Led by Michael Shwedick, Reptile World has entertained “more than 100,000 people a year across 15,000 audiences” since 1970.

According to the Reptile World website, the program was “designed to give audiences the opportunity to meet an interesting selection of live, large, colorful and gentle reptiles from all over the world.”

“Audiences enjoy discovering what reptiles are, what makes them different from birds and mammals and how important they are in our environment,” the website said. “Many of the myths and misconceptions are dispelled, instilling a greater appreciation and understanding of these fascinating reptiles.”

Some of the reptiles that audiences will interact with include:

  • An Alligator Snapping Turtle
  • A tropical lizard from South America or Africa
  • An American or Chinese Alligator
  • An African or Asian Crocodile
  • The brightly colored Mexican Milksnake
  • A young adult Boa Constrictor or Anaconda
  • A beautiful Indian rock python and several other fascinating snakes.​
