Southern Head Coach Chuck Donohue, Sr.

"Our program is fortunate," said Coach Chuck Donohue Sr.  "Roy has been around our program for over 40 years.  He is dedicated, professional and cares about our student athletes.  He is a true historian of Southern football."

Roy Librizzi began his teaching career at Southern in 1968.  He taught physics and chemistry for 36 years retiring in 2004.  He also coached baseball and wrestling while employed with the district.

He has been the statistician for the football program for 47 years. "I retired in 2004 and it has been a way for me to keep in touch with Southern," said Librizzi.  "It has been a way for me to get to know and keep in touch with the students at Southern."

Librizzi began in 1971 assisting the team by taking notes on the sidelines.  "I eventually set up spreadsheets and integrated the stats with computer programs (as technology improved)."

To give you an idea of the longevity of Mr. Librizzi, Southern Regional athletic director Chuck Donohue Jr. shared "Librizzi has been the Southern Regional football statistician since 1971, I was born in 1971."
