SHIP BOTTOM, NJ - “On June 17, 2019 Ship Bottom Police responded to the Wawa convenience store located at 902 Central Avenue in reference to a male committing a lewd act inside his vehicle,” according to police.
Upon their arrival to the scene they were told that the vehicle had already left the area.
Ship Bottom Police were able to get a detailed description of the vehicle and suspect from a victim who witnessed the incident, said the report.
The vehicle was located within the borough and the suspect was inside another store.
A positive identification was made of the suspect.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the Ship Bottom Police Department where he was processed and charged with two counts of lewdness.
Police said, “Further investigation revealed that the suspect was wanted for a previous incident at the same location in August 2018.”
According to the victims, the suspect never physically approached, touched, or assaulted anyone on either occasion and the victims never physically confronted the suspect.
