Southern Baseball Falls 5-4 to Central on Wednesday Afternoon

BAYVILLE - Southern's Marcos Matias hit a home run and Pat Barrett went 3-for-4 in the tough loss 5-4 loss on Wednesday to Central Regional.  

Central's Shane Black went 2-for-3 with two RBI and scored a run, Jared Morris went 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run and Vance Pelino went 2-for 4 and had an RBI for the Golden Eagles.   Tyler Aires pitched the first four innings to pick up the win. He allowed two unearned runs on three hits, struck out four, walked five and threw 87 pitches.  Ryan Greene pitched the final three innings and threw 43 pitches to pick up the save.

Southern's record dropped to 10-6 on the season.  Central has an overall record of 8-7.
