TUCKERON, NJ - The Southern Regional Boys Golf team won the 2017 Ocean County Tournament on Monday. The Rams have won the tournament for the 4th consecutive season. Four of the golfers finished in the Top 10. .

For the fifth straight year a Southern golfer was the individual champion.  Caleb Rossi was the individual champion with a 2-over-par 74 at Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg Harbor.

The Rams won with a team total of 319 strokes.  Rounding out the scoring for the Rams was Matt Rizzo at 80, Chris D’Alessandro at 82 and Nick Campanelli at 83.

Jackson Fiel won three straight Ocean County titles for Southern, before Rizzo won it last year.

The Rams finished 25 shots ahead of their closest competitor Toms River North, with Central another three shots back in third at 347.

``I’m really proud of these guys because they work very, very hard, and I ask a lot from them,’’ said Southern coach Jeff Reilly. "They take a lot of pride in what we want to accomplish, and this was one of our major goals.’’
