Southern Boys Lacrosse Defeats Howell 4-2 in First Round State Tourney Action

STAFFORD - Ben LoParo and Aniello Russo each had a goal and an assist and Anthony Firmani and Cade Johnson each had a goal to lead fifth-seeded Southern to a 4-2 victory over 12th-seeded Howell in the first round of the South Jersey, Group 4 tournament at home. 

Ryan Comfort had one assist and Maul Luke made 16 saves for Southern, which advanced to Saturday's quarterfinals and will face the winner between 13th-seeded Cherry Hill East and fourth-seeded Monroe.

James Fay and Vaughn Meehan each had a goal and Joseph Sorrentino and Logan Dennison each had an assist for Howell.
