STAFFORD - The Southern Regional Boys Volleyball defeated Washington Township in the South Jersey NJSIAA semifinals by scores of 25-17 and 25-14. 

Southern's record improves to 36-4. The Rams will host third-seeded Williamstown at 5 p.m. Friday in the sectional championship match.

Southern's goal is to win Friday's contest and advance to the State finals. The Rams have won South Jersey title the last nine years and in those nine seasons, Southern has been overall NJ champions six times.  Southern won the state championship the last two years.

Matt Maxwell had 25 assists, five digs, three service points and one block for Southern, while Zach Hem had eight kills and three blocks. Shane Bent had seven kills, five blocks and three digs.

Matt Jones had 10 service points to go with six digs and two aces.

The Rams’ Arvind Kumar had six kills, four blocks and three digs, while Sam Iacoves had four digs.
