STAFFORD - The Southern Regional Boys Volleyball began their quest for the state championship on Tuesday afternoon hosting Barnegat in the first round of the NJSIAA playoffs.

The Rams defeated the Bengals in two straight games by scores of 25-12 and 25-13.  Zach Hem had seven kills and 10 service points. Logan Lipositz had eight digs and Matt Maxwell had 15 assists in the contest.

Maxwell had had a great season and is one of Southern's most dynamic players. He is close to 700 assists this season.  He looks to get the ball to Justin Kean and Zack Hem, who are having great seasons. Hem recently returned from injury and his return has made the Rams even stronger.
