STAFFORD - The Southern Regional Rams field hockey team entered Saturday with a record of 4-0 and were taking on perennial Shore Conference and NJSIAA champion Shore Regional at home on Saturday morning.
Shore is currently ranked as the number 6 team in New Jersey according to the recent NJ.com poll.
Shore's Lily Santi scored and assisted on Carly Cole’s goal to lift Shore, to a 2-1 victory over the Lady Rams.
Shore goalie Rachel Dwyer stopped five of Southern’s six shots on goal.
Southern scored on a goal by Erika Barbera who was assisted by Priscilla Nicolini in the second half to keep the contest close. Shore had 12 shots on goal compared to Southern's six.
