Southern Girls Hoops Falls To Marlboro 37-27 in Shore Conference Tournament Game

MARLBORO, NJ - The 21st seeded Southern Regional Girls Basketball team lost a 37-27 contest to 12th seeded Marlboro on Tuesday night in the first round of the Shore Conference Tournament.  .

Jacqueline Ward led Southern with nine points as Anna Spaschak and Kaela Curtin both totaled six points. All of Spaschak points came from beyond the three-point arc as Curtin added two steals to her night.

Molly Weiss added 13 points in the win, including the team's only 3-pointer, as Gisella Romeo tallied six points.

Marlboro has the unenviable task of facing fifth-seeded St. Rose, a team ranked as number 4 in NJ in the second round on Thursday..  

Southern's overall record drops to 13-11 on the season.  The Rams have a non-conference game on Thursday against Vineland at Southern at 4 p.m. The Rams are preparing for the upcoming NJSIAA State Tournament.

TRENTON - Recreational anglers and those new to the pastime can try their hand at freshwater fishing during a statewide challenge and Free Fishing Day, both on Saturday, June 9, the Department of Environmental Protection announced today.
