BRICK - The Southern Regionals Girls Lacrosse team lost a tough contest to Brick Memorial at Brick on Monday afternoon by a score of 8-7. The Rams with a record of 9-4 were upset by the 6-6 Mustangs.
Freshman Jordan Viggiano scored the game-winning goal off an assist from Megan Egan. Tess Courtwright netted a game-high four goals while Tea Ferrara had three goals for Brick Memorial, which had a total of 21 shots and outscored its opponent, 5-2, in the first half. Lindsay Hernandez recorded 16 saves, Egan had two assists and Jessica Slobiski added one assist.
Shannon Lytle had two goals and one assist while Lauryn Flynn had one goal and three assists for Southern. Colleen Mason and Holly Yannacone each netted two goals while Clare McCarthy recorded 12 saves. Alexis Maul added one assist.
