Southern Regional Loses Tough Season Opener Contest to Howell 12-10 in Girls Lacrosse Opener

STAFFORD - Southern was outscored 6-4 in the first and that was the margin of victory as Howell held on for a 12-10 victory over Southern in Manahawkin.

Colleen Mason scored four goals, while Maddie Leyh scored two goals and had an assist for the Rams.  Alexis Maul added two goals in the loss.  Holly Yannacone scored a goal and had four assists. Alex Mattner scored a goal.  Diana Muia recorded an assist. Goalkeeper Noelle Englebert made 15 saves for Southern.

Jenna Cholowinski scored two goals and had two assists, while Jilian Dee and Sara Huguenin each scored a goal and had an assist. Goalkeeper Erika DeSantis made five saves for Howell.
