Stafford, NJ - The Southern Regional Football team won thier first game of the year on Saturday afternoon 41-0 over Toms River East in their Homecoming Game. The Rams took a 21-0 lead at halftime. Matt Barnett scored first on a 7 yard run. Joe Miele and Dane Walker also scored on touchdown runs in the first half.
Barnett scored in the third quarter on a 41 yard gallop to the end zone. Dane Walker scored on a 4 yard run. In the fourth quarter Chris Scucci had an 8 yard run to paydirt. Matt Barnett made 5 of 6 extra point attempts. Cade Johnson kicked a successful PAT after Scucci's touchdown.
Southern Regional's Matt Barnett was amed the 2016 Larry Dunfee Homecoming Game MVP. This was a special game for the Rams. First of all, they earned their first victory. Last Friday night, the club lost 41-0 to Manalapan. This week the Rams were on the winning end of the same score against the Toms River East Raiders. That is solid improvement and turnaround.

Southern's record improves to 1-3 on the season. The Rams have off next week. Their next game will be on October 7 against Jackson Memorial.
