Southern Regional Plans its Traditional Memorial Day Field of Flags Ceremony on Friday at 10:30 AM

STAFFORD, NJ -The Southern Regional School District announced their traditional Memorial Day Field of Flags Service this Friday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m.  

The service takes place to pay tribute to the military men and women who have given their lives in service to our country.

One 12” x 18” American flag will be placed for every service person who has died in Iraq and Afghanistan while serving our country. The flags will be placed Thursday before Memorial Day (May 24).  The Southern Regional Air Force Junior ROTC cadets, along with the physical education department, will be placing the flags throughout the day on Thursday.

The Memorial Day Service is planned on the site with students and community members welcome. 

This ceremony is open to all. The community is invited to attend this ceremony. The hope is that the Stafford community as well as the student body will begin the holiday weekend fully realizing the purpose behind the holiday. The flags will remain in place through the holiday weekend.
