STAFFORD - The Southern Regional Rams baseball team with an overall record of 13-6 and the No. 3 seed, get to compete in the Ocean County Tournament championship Thursday night against the winner of Tuesday night's Toms River North at Toms River South semifinal.
The game was tied in the bottom of the eighth inning and Connor Ciliberto was called on to pinch run for Zach Oddo who singled with two outs in the inning.
Ciliberto stole second base and scored when Cole Markley grounded a ball to the TR South shortstop, a routine play but the throw was off line. Markley was safe at first and Ciliberto unhesitatingly scored from second for the winning run. The Rams secured the 4-3 victory over Manchester.
