STAFFORD, NJ - Southern's Anthony Gagliardi will take his football and academic talent to Wagner College in Staten Island next season.  Anthony signed his National Letter of Intent today at Southern Regional.

Wagner is a Division 1 program in the FCS and they compete in the Northeast Conference with schools such as Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, Robert Morris, etc.

Gagliardi said "I chose Wagner because they were very honest and treated me very well.  Their program is on the up and up,  The location is close to Wall Street which is great for my major (finance) and they are building a new business building next year."

When asked about his favorite memory playing football for Southern Regional and Coach Chuck Donohue Gagliardi said, "my best football memory happened last year, my junior year.  We played a really tough game against Toms River South.  We won with one second left in the game with a field goal."

Coach Donohue remarked "He can do a lot of things,  He played receiver, corner and safety, he was a kick returner on both punts and kickoffs, and he has very good speed.  His number one asset is the speed, and that's what really got the attention of the people at Wagner."

Expect to hear a lot from Anthony in the coming years as he heads off to have strong impact on the Wagner Seahawks football field.
