Stafford Man Flashes Handgun While Company Attempts to Repossess His Harley Davidson

STAFFORD, NJ - On Wednesday evening Stafford Township Police Department reported that Michael Arnold of Mermaid Drive was having his Harley Davidson motorcycle repossessed at approximately 7:30 p.m.  The repossession company was approached by Mr. Arnold.  Mr. Arnold allegedly drew a handgun from his back waistband and ordered the employees off his property.  The employees called Stafford Police immediately.  

One of the repossession company employees was wearing a GO-PRO camera at the time of the incident. Mr. Arnold pointed the gun at him and ordered him to give him the camera. The victim gave Mr. Arnold the camera, at which time Mr. Arnold went into the open garage of his house and gave the camera back a few minutes later.   The employees went back into their vehicle and left the area to a safe spot and waited for the police to arrive.  

Mr. Arnold left his residence on Mermaid Drive and was found at his girlfriend's home on Nautilus Drive.  As the officers spoke with Mr. Arnold, he informed them that he had placed the gun in his house on Mermaid Drive.  The gun was located at the Mermaid residence by the Stafford Township officers.

Arnold was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, unlawful Possession of a weapon and possession of a unlawful purpose.  Mr. Arnold was lodged in the Ocean County Jail on $50,000 bail.
