STAFFORD, NJ - On Tuesday night, the Stafford Mayor and Council dedicated the opening of this month's Town Council meeting by expressing their appreciation for our local police force. This is an especially appropriate time to recognize and display appreciation to law enforcement in light of recent shootings of officers in Dallas, Baton Rouge and other instances.
Mayor John Spodofora and the Township Council are strong supporters of the Stafford Police force under the direction of Chief Thomas Dellane.
The Mayor began saying, "The first item on our agenda this evening is something that is important to the entire council, with a lot of bad happening in our society today......This resolution in support of all the efforts of the Stafford Township Police Department and recognition of all the police departments in our nation. We understand the dangers and difficulties faced each day by our officers. The Stafford Township Council not only recognizes the challenges our officers face daily, but truly support our officers since each of us on this Council are residents of Stafford."
The Mayor continued, "Stafford Township is committed to the safety and welfare of our police officers and their families. All communities throughout our nations should recognize and appreciate their police officers.”
The mayor then continued by addressing the approximately 25 officers in attendance. Spodofora also made it a point to express his appreciation to the spouses and children of the officers for all their support and sacrifice.
