Stafford Police Offering Summer Youth Police Academy

STAFFORD- Are your children interested in a different type of summer camp?  Does your child show an interest in law enforcement?  If so, this may be the summer experience for your child.

The Stafford Police Department is offering an innovative option for area youth entering grades six and seven this fall.

The Academy will run from June 25-29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m and will be held at the Stafford Township Police Headquarters. The Department reports that the Academy is not a "boot camp" for troubled youth, but a camp designed to operate like an actual police academy for those interested in law enforcement.

The cadets will learn about the various police procedures, history of the Stafford Township Police Department, tours of the Police Headquarters, field trips and will receive comprehensive understanding of what it takes to succeed in the profession of law enforcement. 

Cadets should be prepared for an experience spanning a wide variety of Law Enforcement techniques and training.

A strong emphasis will be placed on self respect, respect of others, teamwork and commitment to one’s goals. This will be accomplished through structured events which will be offered in a fun, informative, interactive, educational and hands-on manner.

The curriculum will consist of educational activities as well as physical training activities. 

The following requirements must be completed: 

1. Completed application. Applications must be completed in black ink and signed. 
2. One letter of recommendation from a teacher or principal
3. Completed medical certification form
4. Signed medical release form and civil liability form
5. Signed media release form
6. Completed essay question
7. Must be an incoming 6th or 7th grade student as of September 2018.
8. Must be a Stafford Township resident 

Applicants must print neatly.  

Applications MUST be submitted no later than May 16, 2018 to Stafford Township Police Headquarters (Attn: Youth Police Academy) 

Those who are are accepted to the Youth Police Academy will receive a welcome email no later than May 21.

At that time, cadets must mail a check in the amount of $75.00 made payable to Stafford Township PBA to the following address:
