LONG BEACH ISLAND - Anyone who was out and about walking around after 10:45 p.m. on Sunday night suffered through torrential downpours all along LBI.  Many teens were walking home from Teen Night at the Ketch, returning home from visiting friends, riding bikes, walking from various clubs, etc.  Route 72 east and westbound were closed for a period of time during the night.

.

The area bars closed at 2 a.m. and many folks who wisely choose not to drive had to walk in the powerful storm.
