Thundersnow, Lightning, Icing and Flooding Highlight Wednesday Afternoon's Storm Update


STAFFORD AND LONG BEACH ISLAND - This afternoon the warnings in our area are many.  Here are some updates for all to be aware of in our area this afternoon.

  • The Ocean County Sheriff has issued a statement for drivers to use extreme caution in the Garden State Parkway from Wall Township to Little Egg Harbor. There have been many motor vehicle accidents this afternoon on that highway.
  • Long Beach Island is experiencing flooding.  The Ship Bottom and Surf City Police departments have announced that many LBI roads are flooded. 
  • The Ocean County Sheriff has issued warning that the public is requested to stay off the roads and take shelter.  Many lighting strikes are making landfall at this time. 
  • Overall, the roads are slushy and extremely icy this afternoon.

Please drive with extreme caution.
