STAFFORD — There is a compelling primary this Tuesday, June 5 in Stafford Township. There are seven seats including the mayoral position up for grabs in this GOP primary election.

The primary is expected to be critical due to the fact that Stafford Township residents are primarily Republicans. The Democratic Party has not submitted any candidates for the Democratic primary on Tuesday.

Mayor John Spodofora is seeking re-election the regular Ocean County Republican candidate. He has six others on his team. He is joined by sitting council members Paul Marchal, 65, of Jennifer Lane; Sharon McKenna, 52, of Admiral Avenue; David Taylor, 57, of Coral Lane and Stephen Fessler, 66, of Oxycocus Road. The new candidates for the regular Republicans are Raymond Fix, 62, of Katydid Drive and Gordon “Rich” Carlson, 64, of Timberlake Drive;
