Southern Ocean Chamber Host LBI Health Department for Food Allergy Session on March 5

SHIP BOTTOM, NJ - The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce will host the Long Beach Island Health Department on Monday March 5.

The 2-3 hour instructional session is to improve understanding of food allergies and anaphylaxis. 

It will teach proper food handling procedures to ensure safe delivery of meals to diners with food allergies, intolerances or sensitivities including gluten intolerance and celiac disease.

It will also highlight the laws that protect individuals with food allergies, as well as identify ways to improve safety of food service to those patrons. 

Attendees must pre-register through the chamber of commerce with check in for the event beginning at 8:45 a.m. 

As part of the Chamber's Open for Business program, this event was coordinated as an executive session with partner Panzones’ Restaurants.

There is no cost to attend this seminar, but space is limited.

Members of the Southern Ocean County Chamber who operate in the food service industry will have priority to attend this class.
