BARNEGAT, NJ -  The community has come out in full force to raise funds for little Memphis Rank, who suffered severe injuries in a recent lawnmower accident. In fact, one initiative includes a virtual auction with a visit from Santa currently pulling in the top bid.

Chris Barlow of Big Barlow's BBQ & Catering already is renowned for both his cuisine and good will. Recently, he joined a crew of local chefs to bring meals to first responders. When he learned that a local child was injured, Barlow went back to doing what he does best. He decided to cook up meals as a means of donating proceeds. However, anyone who waited to get their favorite menu items is out of luck. Barlow sold out for Saturday in less than 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Barlow also came up with the idea of the virtual auction. His requests for donations instantly gained the hearts of many giving people. The auction is already in progress and final bids must be in by Friday, May 1, at 5pm.

"We have 369 donated gifts  totaling  $63,565 in bids as of 10:30pm last night," shared Barlow on his restaurant Facebook page.

Barnegat Santa and Mrs. Claus have donated a home visit that will last between 30-45 minutes. The fact that they announced limited availability in December didn't seem to deter bidders for their chance to bring the magic of Christmas into their homes. The highest bidder stands at $350.  Will anyone go higher?

An assortment of other items are also bringing high bids. A X-Box One S with game passes is currently at $260.  A  Martin Treux signed and autographed race car and hat are now at $300. Bids for a huge block center and blocks are at $300. A golf foursome at Greenbriar currently has bids at $310.

However, the highest bid is for a tattoo at 777 Tattoo, which now has a bid amount of $1100. Barlow himself has offered a pound of brisket per week for one year.  The bid on that is now at $700.

Meanwhile, the assortment of other items for bid are also available for lower opening prices. Generous friends, businesses and neighbors have contributed beautiful handmade items as well as those generally offered at home parties.

Once again, Barnegat neighbors and the surrounding area show that joining together results in well-needed assistance.
