STAFFORD - The Stafford Township governing body recently announced the approval of the 2018 municipal budget. The tax rate has been reduced by 1.3 cents and $850,796 dollars under the cap.
Stafford also will have reduced the township debt by the end of 2018 in the past eight years by $45.5 million dollars.
The budget includes general operational expenses and reflects a number of capital improvements. Some of those improvements include paving and drainage work in Ocean Acres, replacement of the playground at Ocean Acres Lake Park, new water mains in Beach Haven West and an Open Air Pavilion and bathrooms at Millcreek Park.
The township has purchased new equipment which increases the in house capability of township employees thus saving millions of dollars for the taxpayers by performing work at one third of the cost of outside contractors.
