SHIP BOTTOM - The Ship Bottom Police Department reported the arrest of two men after a thorough investigation by Patrolman Biester and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. The two men are held responsible for selling heroin to a victim who overdosed and died on April 15, 2108. The victim was a 40 year old man found in Ship Bottom.
The detectives determined that Levi Brown, 32 years old from Egg Harbor Township and Ronald Parrish, 62 years old from Pleasantville were the source of the heroin. That distribution of heroin was ruled to be the direct cause of the death of the victim by the Ocean County Medical Examiner.
Both of the men are currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail.
Brown and Parrish were both charged with:
- Strict Liability for a Drug-Induced Death
- Manufacturing and Distribution of Heroin
- Possession of Heroin
*This is the second time that Levi Brown is charged under the Strict Liability statute. In 2009, he was charged under the then-new law.
