HARVEY CEDARS - Former Harvey Cedars Police Chief Jerry Falkowski was appointed last month to serve as civilian police director in Harvey Cedars. 

The position was recommended by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office after two officers were involved in recent legal trouble.

Falkowski will serve for six months at a rate of $400.00 per day.  At the end of the six months, he can be extended for an additional six months. 

The position is to oversee department operations. Falkowski served as chief from 2005 up until his retirement in 2009.  He began his career in Harvey Cedars in 1983 as a patrolman.
