LAUREL, MD - Two Stafford Township officers took first place in the BUDS Challenge held in Laurel, Maryland on July 2.  Officers Gerardo Jorge and Zach Wiatrowski participated in the two-person endurance challenge hosted by Prince George’s County Police Department in Laurel, Maryland.

The challenge consisted of two-man teams, who each performed endurance exercises including tire flips, sit-ups, a wall-climb, equipment carry, buddy carry, water crossing, and ended with a 4-mile trail run.

Jorge and Wiatrowski took first place, beating out other members of Law Enforcement, Swat, Navy, and Air Force Teams.

Officer Wiatrowski, pictured on the right, has won 2 NJ Elite Challenges and 2 Prince George Iron Team Challenges.

Officer Jorge, pictured on the left, is our newest officer, who graduated the Ocean County Police Academy In May of 2019, winning awards for Overall Best Recruit and Most Physically Fit.

Both officers were trained by Stafford Officers Fessler and Vincent who are multiple time winners of the NJ Elite Law Enforcement Challenge and Prince George Iron Team Challenge.
