Silva's 15 Points Not Enough as Brick Defeats Southern Boys Hoopsters 46-38

BRICK - Jay Silva scored 15 points but it was not enough as Brick defeated Southern 46-38 on Monday night in Brick.

Brick was powered by Jalen Jackson with 23 points.  Brick's record improves to 6-3 and the Rams drop to 3-9.

Curtin, Del Rio and Ward Lead Southern Girls to 50-37 Hardwood Victory Over Brick

STAFFORD - Kaela Curtin registered her third double-double in four games, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds for Southern.

Sam Del Rio had 12 points and Jacqueline Ward collected 11 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and two steals for the Rams, who seized a 19-8 advantage in the first quarter and took a 29-14 lead into halftime.

Southern Wrestlers Defeat Middletown North and Timber Creek

STAFFORD - The Southern Regional Wrestling team held a Tri-match at home on Saturday and gained two victories. The Rams defeated Middletown North 43-22 and Timber Creek 69-6.

Barnegat and Southern Boys Swim Teams Finish Fourth and Fifth in Ocean County Championships

TOMS RIVER -  The Barnegat High School Swim team finished fourth in the Ocean County Swimming Championship this weekend. The Southern Regional Boys Swim team also competed and they finished fifth out of 14 teams.

The Rams won 18 medals and 15 of the Rams had personal records in their events..

Kilcommons Sets School Record as Southern Girls Swimmers Take Fourth Place in Ocean County Championships

TOMS RIVER - The 2019 Ocean County Championships were held last night at the Ocean County YMCA in Toms River.  The Southern Regional Girls Swim took fourth place with a total of 257 points. 

26 of the 44 swims by went for personal best times.

STAFFORD - Jackson Memorial defeated the Southern Regional Girls Basketball team 45-37 on Friday. Jackson was led by Dani Evans with 25 points. Southern was led by Sam Del Rio with 13 points and Jackie Ward with 10.

BRANT BEACH - The Southern Regional High School Girls Swim Team faced unbeaten Toms River North on Tuesday afternoon.  North defeated Southern 105-65.

Southern Boys Give Toms River North a Scare in 48-44 Loss on Tuesday Night

STAFFORD - The Southern Boys Basketball team faced Toms River North at home on Tuesday night. The Rams led 23-21 at halftime.  A cold shooting third quarter did the Rams in as they were outscored 13-7 in that crucial period.   The Rams attacked the basket but missed a significant number of short shots on those drives in the contest.
