TOMS RIVER - Tatiyana Ford and Jackie Herrera both had two hits and two runs scored to lead Southern to a 5-2 win over Toms River East on Saturday.  Christina D'Amodio struck out six and walked one while conceding one earned run in four innings to lead Southern to a 5-2 win over Toms River East on Saturday..

Southern rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 5-2 lead and secure the win. Toms River East tied the game 2-2 with a run in the sixth inning.

Brooke Knight struck out six and walked two for Toms River East (2-15), while Aimee Skweres went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Southern's record improves to an impressive 20-6 on the season.
