MIAMI — I am a longstanding faithful and suffering New York Jets fan. I am at the point where I don't even watch every game. Today, I found myself much more motivated to tune in. The Jets were lining up against MIke Gesicki and the Miami Dolphins.
Of course, Mike grew up in Stafford Township, starred at Southern and Penn State. He has a huge hometown following. His family is awesome and loved by so many in our area.
The Jets lost, that was no surprise. The most exciting aspect of the contest was seeing Gesicki have the best game of his pro career. The stats read 6 catches for 95 yards in the 26-14 victory over the Jets. This was a combination. It was Gesicki's best game and Miami's first win. There was a lot of joy on the sidelines at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The Jets are in great distress and are probably going to fire their first year coach Adam Gase.
Miami was holding on to a seven point lead and Gesicki was isolated flying by Jets linebacker James Burgess on the right sideline. He made a great catch for a 34 yard gain to put Miami in the position to score shortly after the catch.
Mike is still seeking his first NFL touchdown and you got to believe we will see this real soon.
Congratulations to Mike Gesicki from your hometown fans.
