STAFFORD —The College at Brockport women's basketball team in Brockport, New York announced this week the addition of Allison Spaschak to the coaching staff for the 2018-19 season.

Allison had a great career at Southern Regional High school and for the Ithaca College Bombers. Spaschak was named to the Liberty League All-Academic Team and was chosen to attend the 2018 Women's Final Four and take part in the So You Want To Be A Coach conference for prospective women's collegiate basketball coaches.

Allison graduated from Southern Regional in 2014. "Southern Basketball taught me the importance of understanding the process. My sophomore year we were 6-20, and by senior year we were 22-5 because we really valued growth and the process," said Allison. "Coach Snyder taught me to hold myself and others to a high standard and the value a coach can have in terms of impacting their athletes future and overall lives."

In late March, Allison attended the So You Want To Be A Coach program at this years NCAA Women's Final Four in Dallas, Texas. At the Final Four Allison met Brockport Coach Corinne Jones. Allison was introduced to Coach Jones by Stafford native Kristen Sharkey, who is also Allison's cousin.  Coach Jones recruited Kristen play at the University at Buffalo in 2009.  Coach Jones informed Allison about the opportunity at Brockport.  

Allison has worked for a number summers for the prestigious PGC Basketball organization. The organization was founded by the legendary Dick DeVenzio.  Allison said "PGC Basketball is a great opportunity because I get to work with like minded individuals who are committed to servant leadership and a growth mindset. Each week I have the opportunity to use basketball as an avenue to teach athletes about life. It’s an amazing organization that I’m beyond thankful to be part of."
