5th Annual Summit Wine and Food Festival Begins Today


SUMMIT, NJ - Three days of Epicurean adventure and wine tastings begin today as the fifth annual Summit Wine and Food Festival (SWFF) gets underway.

Continuing through Sunday, the SWFF is a foodies dream, bringing together leading chefs and wine makers from around the country to celebrate and advance public knowledge of -- and appreciation for -- great wine and food, while also supporting charitable organizations.  The SWFF provides a diverse range of interactive and educational Epicurean experiences, while showcasing the area's unique and rich culture and history, and promoting local businesses.  The Community Food Bank of New Jersey, which distributes 40 million pounds of food a year to more than 1,000 non-profit programs, as well as more than 400 programs served by their Partner Distribution Network, feeding 900,000 hungry people in 18 New Jersey counties, is the event's charity designee.
Events, time and location of SWFF events includes:
VIP Gala Dinner
6:30 p.m. - The Grand Summit Hotel / Union Ballroom
A multi-course dinner featuring dishes from notable restaurants and prepared by Master Chefs.  To compliment the dishes, each course will be paired with fine wines from around the world chosen by top Sommeliers.

Gala Wine & Food Tasting
7 to 10 p.m. - The Grand Summit Hotel / Grand Ballroom
Many of the nation's greatest chefs will prepare their signature dishes accompanied with some of the very best wines on the market today.  Guests will mingle, sample small plates and taste terrific wines.
