Golfing legend Juan Antonio 'Chi-Chi' Rodriguez stands in the fairway with the Summit resident who was the winning bidder for the auction item -- a day on the links with Rodriguez -- which benefited Franklin Elementary School's community mosaic mural project.
The twosome played at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach and then had lunch together. 'Chi Chi' then surprised his playing partner by inviting him to play another round at Sailfish Country Club and introduced the winner to some of his closest friends.
The day culminated with dinner amongst friends and an invitation to play at The Bear's Club, Jack Nicklaus' country club. Chi Chi and "The Golden Bear" have remained great friends, with Rodriguez now coaching Nicklaus' 14 year-old grandson.
All in all, the Hilltop City golfer -- who bid $6,000 and wishes to remain anonymous -- got way more than what was originally included in the package of just one round of golf in the morning followed by lunch.
