SUMMIT, NJ - On June 3, the City of Summit may need to change the name of 'The Village Green' to 'The Village Green, Orange, Purple, Red, Yellow and Blue'.

That's because the Summit Area YMCA will host and celebrate the traditional Indian / ethnic festival Holi -- or the 'Festival of Colors' -- from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Open to the community, the joyous event will see participants able to purchase colors to throw and celebrate the victory of good over bad, the arrival of spring, the joy of friendship, and equality for all.

Tradition calls for Holi to be a festive day to meet new friends, play and laugh, forget and forgive.

The exuberant color fest will also feature a DJ playing "Bollywood" music hits, a Masala Bhangra dance class, tasty Indian cuisine provided by Bombay Bistro, and the throwing of non-toxic organic colors.

Complimentary parking for the free event is available in the Broad Street Garage. Colors and food are available for purchase on the day of the event. White attire is recommended. To Register visit thesay.org or contact Urvashi Patel at 908-273-3330, ext. 1178 or urvashi.patel@thesay.org.
