Art Center Announces Winter Classes, Workshops; Early Registration Discount Offered

SUMMIT, NJ - The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey has announced its studio art classes and workshops for the winter semester beginning January 12, 2015.  Day, evening and weekend classes are included among the almost 200 classes and workshops -- including 30 new courses -- available in a variety of mediums for children, teens and adults.

New classes added to the Art Center line-up include: Experimental Methods for Photography, Drawing and Painting Made Simple, and Jewelry Design and Rendering.  Teens and children can also choose from a variety of mediums in classes such as Explore Sculpture, Painting Like the Pros, Creative Ceramics, and more.  There are several workshops for all ages throughout the season, like Pee Wee’s Prodigies Wednesday workshops among other offerings.

The Art Center is also a continuing education venue to learn more about contemporary art.  Returning on January 15, the Thursday Evening Salon Series lectures will feature a behind the scenes presentation of Paper Mill Playhouse’s production of Can-Can,  Fashion in the 1970s, and Gardening in the Garden State, among other topics.  In conjunction with the exhibition, Doppler Shift, an Art Afternoon: Gallery Walk and Talk with the curator and artists will be held on January 11.
