MORRISTOWN, NJ - Dr. Jan Schwarz-Miller, MD, Atlantic Health System's (AHS) Senior Vice President and Chief Medical and Academic Officer, has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 100 Hospital and Health System CMOs to Know 2018. Dr. Schwarz-Miller, was appointed to her current role almost two years ago. Prior to that, she served for three years as AHS’s CMO, CAO, Chief Research Officer and VP, Quality. Throughout her time with Atlantic Health System, patient and team member safety has remained her number one priority.
Known for being relentless in ensuring clinical excellence, Schwarz-Miller has implemented a number of protocols and measures that help ensure this dynamic across all Atlantic Health locations and has continued to focus the organization on safety and outcomes data.
During her tenure, she has supervised and left lasting improvements in a number of system-wide departments, including: Occupational Medicine Service and Wellness, Occupational and Environmental Safety and Ergonomics, Infection Prevention, and Pharmacy Services. Schwarz-Miller's commitment to developing and teaching the nation’s next generation of physicians was instrumental in reaching an agreement between The Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) and Atlantic Health System to establish a regional campus at Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center starting in July.
