The Connection will be hosting a 4 part Ayurveda Cooking Series taught by certified Ayurvedic Culinary Educator, Florence Swanstrom. Classes will be held Fridays from 11:00-12:30 pm on October 12, 19, 26 and November 2.  

Ayurveda (the “science of life”) is a five-thousand year-old system of healthcare. This practice teaches Food-as-Medicine and uses easy daily routines based on the rhythms of nature in order to balance our unique mind-body “types.” Ayurveda’s time-tested benefits to digestion are now being recognized and incorporated into modern Western medicine.

Participants will learn about the five elements, three doshas (body types), seasonal eating, six tastes, food combining, spices and superfoods, eliminating toxins, how to modify your favorite recipes, condiments and teas.
