The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey will offer innovative art curriculum for all ages this summer. College students home for the summer and adults can choose from over 20 new courses and featured courses including, Introduction to Digital Photography and Mixed Media & Collage. Students can also sign up for a variety of one day workshops depending on their interests.
Teens may participate in Portfolio Development Intensive, a five-week program for students ages 16-18 who wish to develop their entrance portfolios for submission to fine arts colleges. Both Kids and Teen Art Camps run in one-week sessions from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. for eight weeks, beginning July 8 and ending August 30. Since a different program is offered each week, parents may register their children for as many weeks as they wish. Saturday Art Camp is also offered for students not able to attend a weekday camp. As part of the Discover Summit Arts festival, the Art Center will have a “Local Scenes” exhibition of paintings as part of a public-private partnership with the Summit Free Public Library and on Friday, June 28 will offer two public docent-led tours of the Frohawk Two Feathers: You Can Fall exhibition at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
