SUMMIT, NJ - Goalie Sam Bebout has been a rock for Summit all season long, and he was again in the Hilltoppers match-up versus Northern Highlands.  The senior made 12 saves, many of them spectacular, as the Summit High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse team captured the Sectional Championship with a 6-2 victory.

The Hilltoppers win sets up a group championship match against Somerville May 28 at Ridge High School.  A win there sends Summit to the Tournament of Champions.
Northern Highlands came out strong and got on the scoreboard first, but Summit soon responded with consecutive goals to take the lead.  Summit was getting the ball courtesy of Brian Hadley, who won all but one face-off on the day, but both teams were playing strong defensively, and it was clear that goals would come at a premium.

Connor Murphy powered a low, underhand screamer to tie the game, and Matt Fischetti, on a solo cut from the left side, gave the Hilltoppers a lead they would never relinquish.  Bebout stoned a Highlanders scoring chance in the last 20 seconds, and the quarter ended with Summit up 2-1

Bebout made a couple of more stellar stops, before Fischetti finished a beautiful tic-tac-toe passing play that culminated with James Strabley finding the Captain for the score.  Halftime arrived with Summit leading 3-1.

The third quarter included more fine work from Bebout, and Summit goals from Strabley and John Cordrey.  Strabley lasered in a low shot from the right hand side, and Cordrey finished nicely after a solo dodge from behind the goal gave him space in front of the crease.

The fourth quarter featured a goal from each team, Highlands cutting the lead to 5-2, only to get pegged back as Kyle Waldron scored off a feed from Murphy.

The game out of reach in the final two minutes, the Highlanders took the low road, picking up several penalties, including a reckless hit on Strabley by the Highlands goalie.  Unfazed by the violent collision, Stabley nearly scored on the re-start.

"We were more select with the ball today as we wanted to limited Highlands possession," said Summit Head Coach Jim Davidson.  "We made some offensive adjustments, and I thought we did a good job 6-on-6 and in transition, and Sam had a great game."

Is FAANG Long in the Tooth?

Investors love to rally around a stock story. Today it’s all about the FAANG stocks. Facebook (FB), Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX) and Google (GOOG) are a major reason why the S&P 500 rallied so much in 2017. Mr. Market is convinced the FAANGs are impervious to a sell-off. “Its different this time” is ringing loud and clear, but will the outcome really be that ...
