Jennie Silecchia, a 15-year veteran volunteer and this year’s Individual Honoree, is celebrated at Susan G. Komen North Jersey's 'Pink Tie Party'. With a self-acknowledged 'BOLD GOAL' to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50 percent by the year 2026, the event saw Summit-based Komen North Jersey take an equally bold "leap forward” by generating more than $400,000 in support of its mission.

More than 300 guests attended the event which, in addition to Chatham resident Silecchia, recognized Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Corporate Honoree) and Pfizer (Medical Honoree) for their exceptional commitment to the organization’s mission.

Monies raised will help fund the two primary directives for achieving Komen’s 'BOLD GOAL': to improve access to quality and timely cancer care, and enhance Komen’s national research focus on the most lethal types of breast cancers.
