Broadway Cabaret Comes to Summit Dec. 20

SUMMIT, NJ - Classic songs from Broadway will be brought to life in an intimate, cabaret-syle setting at MONDO on Dec. 20, as a host of performers will present selections from Sondheim, Gershwin, Jason Robert Brown, and other legendary composers in "Broadway Cabaret".

The event is the brainchild of local resident Jenny Stone, who is a quadruple-threat in her own right, with acting, directing and performing joining producing on her resume. Stone believes in showcasing the treasure trove of local talent found in the area, and has assembled a group of 10 performers for the show.  Each artist will perform several songs, mixing in Broadway classics, more contemporary selections, and even some holiday favorites, with intimate arrangements featuring piano, clarinet and other instruments.
While Stone will not be performing at the Broadway Cabaret show -- she instead will be producing the event -- many other talented singers will be, including:
Rob Richardson, who has been seen most recently on Broadway in the 2013 revival of "Jekyll & Hyde" and in the epic musical "A Tale of Two Cities".  Richardson toured nationally in "1776" and "Showboat", and even to China with "Guys and Dolls".
Robyn Ferrari, whose MONDO debut was a reading of the play, "The Diorama".  Her previous stage credits include: "Invader? I Hardly Know Her!" (Soho Playhouse), "Soul Searching" (Times Square Arts Center), "The Dinner Plan" (13th St. Repertory Theatre),  "Holiday Special" (Cohoes Music Hall), "Beauty and the Beast" (Gateway Playhouse), and "West Side Story" (Boheme Opera Co.).

David Murgittroyd who, after winning the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival award in 2006, graduated from Montclair State University and has been acting professionally since.  He has performed in New York, regionally, internationally, in indie films, and on national commercials.
