BRONXVILLE, NY - As they did in their previous game against Westfield, the Summit High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team threw down a dominant second-half performance to break open a relatively tight game, on this day outscoring their  Bronxville High School opponents 7-1 and surging to a 14-5 victory over the Broncos.

Junior Julia Szynal scored a Hat Trick, and a quad of 07901ers -- seniors Ava Spotts and Emily Paytas along with juniors Katia Carnevale and Anna Griffith -- each had a pair of goals for the Maroon and White, who improved to 10-2 on the season.

Senior captain Amy Martino made six stops, junior Anna Huntley-Robertson -- with a goal and three assists -- notched a four-point game, and sophomore Sophie Zachara and junior Kelsey Space also each found the back of the net.

Summit now awaits its Union County Tournament semifinal opponent, with the Hilltoppers -- seeded number one -- taking on the winner of the fifth-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood versus fourth-seeded New Providence quarterfinal. The May 2 semifinal will take place at AL Johnson High School in Clark, with game-time set for 7:30 p.m.
